La Buvette Menus - A Neighborhood Bistro with a French Twist

As a veteran of over 30 years in the restaurant industry with experiences in five star rated restaurants in Saint Tropez, London and Los Angeles, it has always been a dream of mine to open my own bistro. I want to bring a piece of my birthplace in France to my home in San Pedro.
La Buvette recreates the casual bistros that I knew growing up in the south of France. We want our food to taste like it came from my grandmother’s kitchen. Our menu is classic and simple, reflecting authentic bistro dishes from the various regions in France. As a traditional bistro, we must use the freshest seasonal produce and take advantage of locally raised meats, poultry and fish.
Same goes for our wine selection, emphasizing a wide variety of organic, biodynamic wines, vins naturels, French and Californian. The list offers 60 wines priced mostly between $30-$90, as well as a selection of west coast craft beers on tap to complement Chef Aaron’s cuisine.
Loni, an esthetician and an ILWU member and I, live in San Pedro and you might just see me early in the morning catch a wave at some of the local spots or on my paddle board in the coves.
At La Buvette Bistro, our goal is that our cuisine, service and ambiance will transport our guests to some great bistro in France.
Chef Aaron Mitrano
A 3rd generation Resident of San Pedro, Chef Aaron’s cuisine is influenced by the diverse foods and cooking found in the Port Town. Classically trained with over 15 years in the kitchen, he has owned and operated his own restaurant, The Horn in West Hollywood, served as the Sous Chef for the Gordon Ramsay Restaurant Group and a menu and kitchen operations consultant for such established LA eateries as STK and Barton G’s. Chef Aaron is excited to bring his interpretation of rustic French country food with the best local ingredients to downtown San Pedro.
